TAMPA, Fla. babyliss pro perfect . -- Tampa Bays struggling offence suffered another setback Monday: Receiver Mike Williams needs surgery to repair a hamstring injury and will miss the remainder of the season. Williams was placed on injured reserve when the Bucs returned to practice after having the weekend off. The fourth-year pro who signed a six-year, $40.25 million contract in July, had 22 receptions for 216 yards and two touchdowns in six games. "Mike had a hamstring injury that he tried to play through, but just wasnt effective doing it," coach Greg Schiano said. "Hell get surgery now, and itll be repaired. Hell be fine, but itll be a little bit of a recovery." Losing Williams is yet another blow to the winless Bucs (0-7), whove struggled offensively in the wake of a messy split with quarterback Josh Freeman and injuries to running back Doug Martin and guard Carl Nicks, who are both out indefinitely. Williams injured his right hamstring against Arizona on Sept. 29. He was inactive against Philadelphia on Oct. 13, but played the past two weeks and had a combined seven catches for 52 yards and no TDs. A year ago, Williams teamed with Vincent Jackson to give Tampa Bay one of the top receiving tandems in the league. Jackson is off to another strong start with 41 receptions for 623 yards and four TDs. However, the sore hamstring hindered Williams ability to do what hes done best since entering the league as a fourth-round draft pick in 2010 -- make leaping catches over defenders downfield. While Jackson was putting together his fourth 1,000-yard season in 2012, Williams averaged a career-best 15.8 yards per reception on the way to finishing with 63 catches for 996 yards and nine TDs. "After getting all the information from the doctors, he was allowed to try (to play)," Schiano said. "He did for two weeks, but wasnt really himself. He couldnt do the things he needs to do to be effective, so its time to get surgery." Before sitting out this months game against the Eagles, Williams had not missed a game in his career. Hes started 52 of 54 games hes appeared in and has 215 receptions for 2,947 yards and 25 touchdowns. Williams going on IR leaves rookie quarterback Mike Glennon with just one established receiver, Jackson, whos had 100-yard games in two of the third-round draft picks four starts. Tiquan Underwood likely will move into the starting lineup, and Williams absence figures to create more playing time for Chris Owusu, Eric Page and Skye Dawson, a trio of young, unproven receivers. "This is a great opportunity. Im just going to try to run with it," Underwood, a fifth-year pro with 43 career catches, said. "Mikes been banged up for a better part of the year, so I dont think its going to be that much of a change," Schiano said. "Relative to what could have been, sure. Mikes a very fine player. But thats part of life in the NFL. The next man will get the opportunity, and well go with that." Tampa Bay is next to last in the NFL in total offence, averaging 297.7 yards per game. The leagues only other winless team, Jacksonville, is last. Schiano said he does plan to tweak some changes to try to help Glennon, whos thrown 181 passes -- more than any player in league history through the first four games of a career. "When youre 0-7 you look at every single thing, and Im sure were going to be stronger for it moving forward," the coach said. "I think weve put Mike is a bad spot. Hes thrown too many passes. ... We shouldnt put him in that spot as coaches," Schiano added. "Weve re-evaluated that and were going to try to play a little more balanced." babyliss pro perfect curl . The Regina Leader-Post reported that it has received an E-mail from Austin that confirms that he wishes to remain in the NCAA coaching ranks. babyliss canada . - Terrelle Pryor has been waiting a long time to play in a football game. EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. -- The Minnesota Vikings have no intention of trading wide receiver Percy Harvin, general manager Rick Spielman said Friday. Spielman refused to comment specifically on Harvins contract situation, citing his usual policy about any Vikings player or coach. Spielman said team officials, as always, will meet next week at the NFL scouting combine with the agents for every player, which of course includes Harvins representative, Joel Segal. Spielman declined to address the possibility of negotiating a new deal for Harvin, who will the final year of his contract in 2013. As for the potential of a holdout, should Harvins deal not be extended, Spielman said "hes not going to get into hypotheticals" about that. "Percy Harvin is under contract and we expect him, just like all of our players under contract, to be here," Spielman said, Spielman stopped short when asked if he meant the Vikings wont ultimately make a deal that sends Harvin away. "Again, there is no intent to trade Percy Harvin," Spielman said. "He is a very good football player." Spielman said the Vikings werent concerned that Harvin chose to rehabilitate his sprained left ankle in Florida rather than stay at the team facility after he was placed on injured reserve in early December. Harvin was hurt in early November, cutting short what had been a highly productive season for the 24-year-old to that point. Spielman said he believes offensive co-ordinator Bill Musgrave has done an effective job of trying to put the ball in Harvins hands. Spielman said, however, that hed leave Harvins overall feelings about the scheme, the playbook and the personnel between the player and the coaching staff. Harvin met with coach Leslie Frazier in January when he returned for his exit physical, whiich he passed, clearing him to train again at full speed. babyliss perfect curl canada. Harvins many talents and toughness on the field are hard to miss, but his future with Minnesota is unclear because of attitude issues that have popped up and the amount of money hell likely fetch in his next contract. The Vikings must weigh his value as a slot receiver, occasional running back and dangerous kickoff returner against the dent his new deal would put on the salary cap, knowing they need more than just Harvin to give developing quarterback Christian Ponder a capable group of pass-catchers. The situation surrounding Harvin has taken on a life of its own, with a steady stream of rumours about what might happen. "Dont believe all the half-truths or the rumours or the no-truths that are out there, because there is so much stuff that flies around," Spielman said, adding: "I know where were at not only with Percy but with everybody." Spielman also addressed the status of Frazier, whose 2014 contract option was exercised without the promise of or negotiations on a new deal. That gives Frazier at least two more years but means the Vikings must act after next season to avoid putting the coach in a lame-duck year. "We expect him to be our coach for a long time. Hes been outstanding at everything, from leadership to development of young players," Spielman said, adding: "Theres no question of the support that our ownership group, myself, I think our whole organization, has for Leslie Frazier." Spielman declined to specify what he meant by "long time." But he said he doesnt believe the so-far lack of a long-term commitment by the Vikings has irked the coach. "You know what type of character and what type of person he is and what he stands for," Spielman said. ' ' '
