TORONTO -- Coach Stephen Hart has called up a strong squad for Canadas opening round of World Cup qualifiers, with a healthy Atiba Hutchinson back in the fold. babyliss uk . Hart had said earlier this month that the star midfielder, who plays in the Netherlands for PSV Eindhoven, might not be available after minor leg surgery. But the 28-year-old from Brampton, Ont., played 20 minutes for his club on the weekend. "PSV thinks that he can come and contribute," Hart told a conference call Thursday. "But we have to keep an eye on him and make sure that hes 100 per cent and weve promised to do so." Canada skipped the first round of World Cup qualifying in the CONCACAF region which covers North and Central America and the Caribbean. Currently ranked 102nd in the world, Canada is in a second-round group with No. 184 St. Lucia, No. 144 Puerto Rico, and No. 122 St. Kitts and Nevis. Only the group winner will advance. Canadas opponents may be better known as vacation destinations than for their soccer but Harts squad signals that Canada is all in from the get-go, as befitting a country that has only qualified once (in 1986) for soccers biggest showcase. Hart intimated it would be gratifying to finally add to that attendance record and thus end references to Canadas string of qualifying failure. "These individual players want to get a World Cup, be remembered for being a team that got there and hopefully they will do everything to achieve that," he said. Harts 19-man roster covers Canadas first two games of the round -- against St. Lucia at Torontos BMO Field on Sept. 2 and in Puerto Rico on Sept. 6. The next two rounds of matches are in October and November. The top six CONCACAF teams, which includes the U.S. and Mexico, will join the third round of qualifying. The fourth round of CONCACAF competition will produce three World Cup finalists from the region. The fourth-place team will have a shot at joining them via playoff with a country from another region. The Canadian roster includes 16 players from this summers Gold Cup squad, which won just one game in the CONCACAF tournament before being knocked out in the first round. Hart has chosen six MLS players including Toronto FC midfielders Julian de Guzman and Terry Dunfield. Forward Olivier Occean (Greuther Fuerth, Germany) gets a recall while D.C. United attacking midfielder Dwayne De Rosario is in line for his 60th cap. Midfielder-striker Simeon Jackson, whose Norwich City is now in Englands Premier League, will also provide offence. Hart has already faced a number of problems in the leadup to qualifying. Three players on his roster -- goalkeeper Milan Borjan, defender Mike Klukowski and midfielder Josh Simpson -- play in Turkey where allegations of match-fixing have put the start of the league season on hold. Hart says he will evaluate those players in training but noted they have been involved in a busy exhibition schedule. Hart also acknowledged that it is difficult to get scouting reports on some of the teams Canada is facing. Plus the Canadians can expect to play in some less glamorous venues. "Sometimes it could be a big equalizer, especially when our players come from such different playing environments," he said. And while some of the smaller Caribbean countries may not come with a big reputation, their players have spent a lot of time playing together. "That is going to be telling when we play those teams," he said. In contrast, Hart is worried about lack of playing time for some of his players at their clubs. "It remains a huge concern. its unfortunate but thats the situation at the moment," he said. "Theyre in professional environments where they have to fight for selection, which is understood. And in many instances theyre not playing as much as Id like or even as much as they would like." --- Canada Goalkeepers: Lars Hirschfeld, Valerenga (Norway); Milan Borjan, Sivasspor (Turkey). BERLIN -- Freiburg defeated Augsburg 2-0 in the Bundesliga on Sunday to consolidate the last Europa League place and leave the visitors stuck in the relegation playoff spot. "It will stay exciting to the last day of the season," Augsburg coach Markus Weinzierl said. Cedrick Makiadi scored on the rebound in the 31st minute after Augsburg goalkeeper Alexander Manninger saved Jonathan Schmids initial effort. Only Oliver Baumanns acrobatic save at the other end prevented Andre Hahn providing an immediate response. But Schmid secured the win with a cool finish past Manninger in the 61st after a good combination with Max Kruse. "When one team plays so well and the other team wins, then thats hard," said Freiburg coach Christian Streich, who consoled some of the Augsburg players after the final whistle. The visitors had made the better start, with Baumann blocking Sascha Moelders effort and getting his left boot to Hahns shot in the 12th. With two rounds remaining, Freiburg is one point off fifth-place Eintracht Frankfurt, while Augsburg is level on points with Fortuna Duesseldorf, two points ahead of Hoffenheim in a direct relegation spot. Hamburger SV missed the chance to close within a point of Freiburg later Sunday after being held to a scrappy 1-1 draw by Wolfsburg -- a result that suits neither side. "We have to win twice and hope that the others dont win," said Hamburg midfielder Rafael van der Vaart. "But we talk every week about the Europa League. babyliss pro perfect curl uk. We just have to win games." Hamburg seized the lead just before the interval, when Heiko Westermann headed Rafael van der Vaarts free kick past Diego Benaglio. Dennis Diekmeier should have made it 2-0 after the break when he fired over from a promising position. Japans Makoto Hasebe made the home side pay when he equalized with a diving header to Ivan Perisics cross in the 65th. Wolfsburg striker Bas Dost had three good chances to score the winning goal, but was thwarted by Hamburg keeper Jaroslav Drobny on each occasion. Drobny was only playing due to regular No. 1 Rene Adlers suspension. "We were better in the second half, managed to create one or two chances, but you have to give credit to Jaroslav," Benaglio said. The Wolfsburg goalkeeper denied Son Heung-min a late winner for Hamburg in injury time to preserve his sides eight-game unbeaten run. Hamburg remained three points behind Frankfurt, while Wolfsburg was four further back, ending hopes of European football next season. "We didnt miss out on Europe today," said Wolfsburg coach Dieter Hecking, referring to his sides patchy form during the season. His Hamburg counterpart, Thorsten Fink, acknowledged he still had work to do to meet expected standards. "I think were on the right path to stabilize ourselves, but were not ripe enough this year for the Europa League," Fink said. ' ' '
