Different in nature to the 'how to use it to promote your blog' and the discussion on the do's and don'ts of Twitter etiquette already under discussion. I'm interested to see how people actually manage their tweeting - whether it's all phone-based (in which case, which phone and which apps), all through the likes of Tweetdeck or similar on the PC, a mixture of both or some other method I've not yet conceived.
Also, how do you make sure you don't miss out on stuff you'll want to know about? The temporary nature of it means that if you don't log on for a day or two (or even, god forbid, a couple of hours) you're bound to be missing out on something, somewhere.
How do you manage so that you get the most out of the time you spend on it?
Do you obsessively track back through your timeline to whenever you were last online?
Do you use lists?
Who do you follow?

I must admit, I'm a bit of a Twitter addict.
I have an Android phone (HTC Desire) and use TweetDeck on that to manage my accounts. When I'm on my computer I use HootSuite. The reason I opt for that over TweetDeck is it's browser based, is easier on system resources and you can schedule tweets in advance - very handy for work.
I use lists more to aggregate friends than to follow specific topics, but they are very handy for both.
I spend most of my commute to and from London on Twitter, catching up on unread Tweets, responding to @ replies and messages etc. Helps an otherwise boring journey fly by.
The nature of Twitter is such that you will always miss stuff. But also if you immerse yourself in it sufficiently and build relationships with others on there, they'll also be the ones who help make sure you don't miss too much, by retweeting stuff in your direction etc.

I also have Android and run the official Twitter for Android app which I've found to be really good.
On desktop I have Trillian Astra which is an IM client (does all popular ones MSN, Yahoo, AIM etc) but also does Twitter and Facebook amongst other things. Therefore I get alerts when somebody @s me or sends me a DM, and means I can be constantly logged into Facebook chat without having to use their website.

I use Twitter for Android on my phone, and my habits are much the same as Simon's. I use it on the way to and from work - which explains why many of my tweets are sent between about 8.15 and 8.45 in the morning and 6.00 to 6.30 in the evening - and Tweetdeck at home, where I just dip in and out as and when needed. Most of the site links (200% posts tend to go up at about midnight or later) go straight up and again the next morning, but twice is plenty enough.

I just got a BlackBerry through work (would have preferred an android or IPhone, but it was free) - have taken to tweeting on my commute in to work from North London but discovered the Two Hundred Percent and Run of Play apps and think they are terrific - I am still getting used to typing on a BlackBerry and suspect I won't ever be that comfortable with it so feel I'll mainly be using twitter to read other people's tweets - reserving my own tweetage for when I am at a computer.
