I could potentially go ahead and organise via twitter and email if people would be happy for me to do so?

Definitely. Are we making it International Women's Day?

yes - still keen although it is very near now - March 8 - even if just a few of us do it, it should have some resonance. Out of the UK at the moment but back Thursday

As long as I am given a day or two's notice, I will be able to get this sorted for 8th March.

I've written a piece on universities and women's football. What do I do with it now? Do I email it to someone or post it on my blog on the 8th with links to others?

I am trying to dig out info about Daggers ladies and currently failing. Our official site stopped carrying info last season. In fact I'm thinking that after last season's relegation they may have disbanded as I can't find them on any league table.

Beginning to think that timing this for next Tuesday is probably going to be a tall order but I may set a date in early April - that way, I can start the organising and give people a lot more notice and will help me plan it a little better.

That would actually be better for me too, as I'm busy with Northern League Day at the moment (and, erm, MA assignments, teaching and going to Spain for a week to train language teachers, all of which have taken a back seat so far this week).

Well, doesn't it work so there's one website a week where the carnival is? If so, why not start at mine, or 200% as we can both do something by Tuesday and people can write articles as an when.
If a carnival doesn't work like this then sorry! I'm not really sure how they work.

cheers Richard - I think it will work best if everyone aims to publish on one day with posts scheduled throughout a 24 hour period - I'd then look to publicize it via the Guardian and in advance. Just back from Asia and worry that doing a half baked effort on Tuesday will mean people's efforts might go unnoticed so a month's time would work better I feel - will provide plenty of notice and a full plan - probably later this week and will spend a bit of effort commissioning pieces and suggesting ideas. I may schedule it for just after Socrates Ryton.

Ok, that sounds like a good plan. Just let us know the date and what else to do for it to work.

Love the sound of this. My colleagues and I at FootballFairground.com would be more than happy to host a page displaying any Carnival posts that are written...?

Hi folks, I'd like to revisit the idea for International Women's Day on March 8 as I think time and my own inefficiency caught up with us last year. I'll attenpt to drum up interest.

What's the plan?

This is a great idea!
I'd like to do something for the women's "edition". Perhaps something simple like a profile of Carolina Morace.
Are there any possibilities for other topics? One per quarter could be good. People don't have to write new articles either, do they, submissions of links for things they've written before are more than welcome - I'd presume?
